Founded in 1991, the Nelson County Soccer Club (NCSC) - NCSC is dedicated to providing a quality, yet economical soccer program for the youth in Nelson County Kentucky. With a membership of over 740 players in age groups from U-4 to U-18, NCSC’s goals are to develop a healthy attitude toward sportsmanship and to provide our players with skills that they will use on and off the field. NCSC recognizes the needs of players of all skill

levels and therefore provides programs to suit the skill level of each individual. Currently, the NCSC has a strong recreation program of 46 teams with approximately 500 players ranging in the age groups of U-4 up to U-14. For the more competitive players, NCSC has 14 Select teams with approximately 240 players participating in the Kentucky Select Soccer League and the Buckeye Premier League. Over the years, several teams have been finalists and semi-finalists in the State Cup. NCSC is also proud to have had several players in the Olympic Development Program along with athletes advancing to play college soccer and into the professional ranks. NCSC communications director Lee Mattingly stated “NCSC are excited about the partnership with Sheffield Wednesday and GIS. The Sheffield Wednesday North American Academy will provide opportunities to both our players and coaches that were not available before. We believe that the expertise of the Sheffield Wednesday staff will provide us the tools to develop our players and the camps will give us a chance to showcase our talent. We look forward to working with the Sheffield Wednesday North American Academy staff and GIS.
